Comic Patrol
If you dig comic books and conversation between two would be friends, this is the podcast for you. We are wickedly good-looking, incredibly knowledgeable and mildly literate detectives who spent countless years rising the ranks over comic book creations we shared across the pages. We kept the spotlight on what we loved/hated the most on all of comic book culture, and anything that made us graphical fans from the beginning. Buckle in and join co-hosts Coke and Dank in this weekly podcast to get your ears perked with our brand of geek culture... This is our patrol, This is Comic Patrol. Warning: Hosts may experience brief moments of cheer as tangents of random discourse of rage often to distract and amuse all parties. #numeatz #sawftcheeze

Monday Aug 24, 2020
Monday Aug 24, 2020
We don't often do news-y episodes, but when something as big (and as great) as DC Fandome happens, even D'Lethal Weapons take notice.
We talk about a heap of reveals that DC dropped on top of our nerdy little heads this weekend; from The Batman to Suicide Squad to Wonder Woman and even more Batmen, check out our new name for the whole thing: The DCFU.

Batman The Court of Owls Saga
Batman Hush

In today's meaty episode, we break down the exact definitive top 3 list (it really wasn't that hard) from this selection. Full spoilers for all these stories within this episode.

X-Men TAS Beyond Good & Evil [Bottle Cap Review]
Tuesday Jul 21, 2020
Tuesday Jul 21, 2020
If you know Comic Patrol, then you know we can't help but bring back snippets of our beloved 90s comic book cartoons. This time around, it's a deep cut from season 4 of the X-Men Animated Series which should have (and kind of is) essentially the series final arc: Beyond Good and Evil.
It's Apocalypse, it's Sinister, it's Magneto, and telephaths and time manipulation and an existensial crisis.. It's a lot more Wolverine than makes sense. But hey, that's the 90s baby!

[Keg Week Pt 5]
The final entry in our first ever Keg Week, and we'd like to say that it is a doozy. Published in 2012, The Secret History of the Foot Clan sheds light on how the ninja gang got it's checkered start while also linking it all to the present day.
We can't even pretend like it's a bad comic. It's good. It's really, really good. Listen in to find out why... Or eff off.

[Keg Week Pt 4]
Michael Bay can't help himself. He just can't. This movie proves that, even if it is his best version of the Turtles... while compared to the abysmal 2014 film.
There is a lot to talk about when it comes to TMNT: Out of the Shadows because there are both good, and bad things about it. A heap more of one of those things, but listen in to find out whether it's the good stuff or the bad stuff we're highlighting.

[Keg Week Pt 3]
Welcome to the middle of our TMNT Keg Week, and return of Comic Patrol.
What started out as a part two to our "Odd Crossovers" (Epi #34), quickly became a TMNT Crossovers episode based on two things: 1. How many crossovers the Turtles have been in since their conception, and 2. How much we fucking love the Turtles. These aren't every crossover they've ever been in, but there are definitely some standouts from Miyamoto Usagi to X-Files to Power Rangers, we've got em here.So listen up or eff off

Bloodshot Vol 1: Setting the World on Fire [Arc Analysis #10]
Tuesday Mar 03, 2020
Tuesday Mar 03, 2020
Just in time for the movie to come out, Bloodshot (bang bang!) is here in comic book form for the 10th installment of our Arc Analysis series.
Disclaimer: This book has a lot of blood and a lot of shots, which is fitting to it's name. It was part of the 2012 Valiant Universe 'reboot', and is the starting point for one of their main flagship characters. It's gory, it's bloody, it's action-y, but do the Weapons dig it? See inside...

Thursday Feb 27, 2020
Thursday Feb 27, 2020
Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/properties from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight.
This time it's all about spies, MI6 and gadgets galore: James Bond and Ninjak. How similar are these two chaps? Well, aside from body armour and actually being a ninja, pretty damn close. Secret Agent Men, indeed
The movies we cover are 1967's You Only Live Twice, and 2018's compiled web-series, Ninjak vs The Valiant Universe. The books we cover are Ninja-K: The Ninja Files (2018) and James Bond, 007 (2019).

#38 - Comic Books Based on Video Games
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Thursday Feb 20, 2020
Comic books and video games have a long(ish) history, going back a few decades: sometimes adaptations, sometimes continuations, sometimes filler and other times trash.
With co-host Dank away in another galaxy, we have our 3rd(ish) team member fill in, who just happens to love video games as much as Coke does: introducing Whippet! The two Weapons go through a bunch(ish) of video game based comic books and how well(ish) they translated to this wonderful form of media. There was a list made for both co-hosts to cover the same books, but instructions weren't followed so there are more books in this episode than originally planned...This episode contains spoilers and/or brief looks at the following books:- Injustice- Infamous- Mercenaries- Mass Effect: Redemption- The Witcher (2014)- Tomb Raider: Discoveries- Tomb Raider (2014)- Ratchet & Clank- Sonic the Hedgehog (1993)- Sonic Universe- Mega Man (2011)- Mortal Kombat (1994)- Mortal Kombat X- Resident Evil (1998)- Halo: Breaking Quarantine- Halo: Fall of Reach - Boot Camp

Prince of Cats [Arc Analysis #9]
Thursday Feb 13, 2020
Thursday Feb 13, 2020
You've never read anything like this before. Trust us, you haven't.
Oh, you have, huh? You've read an 80's, hip-hop influenced, samurai-themed spin on Romeo and Juliet, that positions the title characters out of the spotlight to focus on Tybalt (and his underground sword-dueling gang) instead, while written in iambic pentameter?
Is that a yes? Well then, keep it moving, I guess... But for those of you who have yet to experience Ronald Wimberly's 2012 (or 2016 rework), please listen in as we talk about Prince of Cats for our 9th installment of Arc Analysis.

#37 - Zorro & Batman [Across the Pages]
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/properties from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight.
This time around, for our 4th go at AxP, it's The Fox and The Bat: Zorro and Batman. Zorro enters his 101st year in 2020 and Batman his 81st, so it isn't hard to tell that these two have HISTORY. They also have a ton of similarities, and one is partially based on the other, hence their comparison in Across the Pages!
The movies we cover are 1998's The Mask of Zorro, and 1997's Batman and Robin. The books we cover are Zorro: Sacrilege, and Batman: Gothic.
Needless to say, there are both very high and very low points in this episode... Very, very low points...

Zorro: The Gay Blade [Bottle Cap Review]
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
Tuesday Jan 28, 2020
Ok, wait. Let us explain! This isn't what it looks like... ok, it is exactly what it looks like: an 80's Zorro parody flick where Zorro injures himself and his flamboyant twin brother takes over the cowl in the meantime.
That's really it. Oh ya, plus some solid laughs and not as many gay jokes as you might expect (there are definitely still gay jokes and the like tho).
We break this movie down - one of us for the 1st time and the other for the 50th time, this is our bottle cap review of Zorro! The Gay Blade.
