My Little Pony: Spirit of the Forest [Arc Analysis #62]

Our first foray into the MLP universe, and even though we weren't sure what to expect, we know all about the faithful following the line has. Bronies ain't nothing to play with, and after this episode, maybe we're going to join the team...Nah, we aren't but this book definitely has it's merits and this episode of Arc Analysis is worth a good listen.

Phase 5 is here with this  anticipated project. It is definitely full of things to talk about. But Coke and Dank pull no punches talking about this 6 episode MCU series. Oh what could of been with a secret invasion.. Nicholas Furious may finally too old for this sh!t .

Axe Cop Vol 1 [Arc Analysis #60]

Leave it to the imagination of a then 5 year old to partner the idea of a police cop and an axe, into a giant size adventure of avocados, machine gun dinosaurs and unicorn babies just to start. Join Coke and Dank as their brain wrinkles on the idea of having your lead writer still wet the bed but still get final say! The Kill Lock Vol 2: The Artisan Wraith [Arc Analysis #59]

Boy, did we ever looove the first volume of The Kill Lock; the story of four misfit robots who had been sentenced to a life linked together by a mark they wore. This mark meant that if one of them died, the would all die and forced the four of them - no matter how much they disliked each other - to exist together and closely.Now, after the events of the first volume (which we won't spoil here), we're back with the same group of four bots, that now have to pick up the pieces from the wild ending of last volume.

Gideon Falls Vol 2: Original Sins [Arc Analysis #58]

Fun fact: Gideon Falls Volume 1 was the 7th Arc Analysis we ever did, and the first one we made it's own drop. Even though that was years ago, Volume 2 was always on our minds to return to because this book stays with you.
Atmospheric, tense, creepy, gripping, psychedelic, creepy... Did we say creepy yet? This picks up right where Volume 1 leaves off, following the conflicted Father Fred in one version of the town and the disturbed Norton in another. Immortal Hulk Vol 1: Or is He Both? [Arc Analysis #57]

Well it took a while but, sometimes those whiles are worth the wait. And it's almost safe to say Immortal Hulk is  that one of worth. Join Coke and Dank as we finally attempt to take down the immovable Mean-Joe-Green of the Marvel Comic Universe and talk all the good, bad and gamma that Bruce Banner and his counterpart Hulk get into. Spoilers: they get into a lot of towns and f*ck them up immediately, its great!

#78 - Guardians of the Galaxy’s Galaxy

(disclaimer: we had some issues with the recording so the audio for this one is a little rough, Dank sounds like he's in a phone booth, which is weird cause whens the last time you've seen a phone booth?!)
Join Coke and Dank as we fall for the oddball, the rebels, the outkasts, the geeks, the outsiders, the guardians:  Gamora, Drax, Groot, baby Groot, Teenage Groot, Ninja Turtle Groot, Rocket and StarLord all over again! We jump through all three of MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy films and a holiday special and remember simpler times of the MCU machine. We talk about all the Volumes:GotG - Volume 1 (2014) GotG - Volume 2 (2017) GotG - Holiday Special (2022)  GotG - Volume 3 (2023)But also, the Guardians comic run (2008), the Guardian effect of humour and tone, favourite characters, best villains, tie-ins, cameos, John C Reilly, voice acting, themes, killer soundtracks, dance off's, favourite scenes, family(mother)-family(father)-family(self) and that James Gunn effect that got a group of unknown space a-holes into certified blockbuster beloved superheroes!
We are gonna miss this chapter.  i am groot. 

The Valiant [Arc Analysis #56]

Poised as a great jumping on point for this specific version of the Valiant universe, "The Valiant" does some of that for sure. It introduces us to characters like the Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot, Geomancer and Unity as well. It definitely doesn't cover everybody, and outside of the first three we mentioned here, not many get a long look, but still, the introduction is there. As for the story, is it any good? Well it's all about how the Eternal Warrior has a duty to protect the Geomancer, and how he keeps failing to do so. This latest time, however, he hopes with some added help, it will be a different outcome.

That's the crux of this book: a regular family guy has things happen to him and around him that turn his life and lifestyle up to 11. It's a ride, kids.

I thought I knew what this book was about, just off the cover and title. I bet you - the person reading this blurb right now - think you have an idea what this book is about. But you don't. I promise you you don't. OKay, sure, there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns but I mean after that. It gets political, it gets sci-fi and it gets trippy. And there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns. There's that too.

Six Guns [Arc Analysis #52]

How many guns? Six. How many characters? Si--FIVE. Gotcha!Six Guns is indeed about six guns, but it's also a story about a collection of people uniting over a common enemy and a throwback to old western Marvel characters. Characters with dope names like Two Gun Kid who - guess what - has two guns.

This was an interesting one for us, because who (our age) doesn't love the Lion King?!And we do like our villains too, with Scar being one of the most charismatic ones. This is the first chapter of his backstory, but is it any good?
