The Valiant [Arc Analysis #56]

Poised as a great jumping on point for this specific version of the Valiant universe, "The Valiant" does some of that for sure. It introduces us to characters like the Eternal Warrior, Bloodshot, Geomancer and Unity as well. It definitely doesn't cover everybody, and outside of the first three we mentioned here, not many get a long look, but still, the introduction is there. As for the story, is it any good? Well it's all about how the Eternal Warrior has a duty to protect the Geomancer, and how he keeps failing to do so. This latest time, however, he hopes with some added help, it will be a different outcome.

Chicken Devil Vol 1: Under Pressure [Arc Analysis #55]

Have you ever had one of those days? You know the days where some ish goes down that's so bad it makes you question your whole sanity and state of mind? You might just have that devil in ya. That chicken devil. 
That's the crux of this book: a regular family guy has things happen to him and around him that turn his life and lifestyle up to 11. It's a ride, kids.

I thought I knew what this book was about, just off the cover and title. I bet you - the person reading this blurb right now - think you have an idea what this book is about. But you don't. I promise you you don't. OKay, sure, there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns but I mean after that. It gets political, it gets sci-fi and it gets trippy. And there's a gorilla in it who shoots guns. There's that too.

Six Guns [Arc Analysis #52]

How many guns? Six. How many characters? Si--FIVE. Gotcha!Six Guns is indeed about six guns, but it's also a story about a collection of people uniting over a common enemy and a throwback to old western Marvel characters. Characters with dope names like Two Gun Kid who - guess what - has two guns.

First Glance: Disney Villains: Scar #1

This was an interesting one for us, because who (our age) doesn't love the Lion King?!And we do like our villains too, with Scar being one of the most charismatic ones. This is the first chapter of his backstory, but is it any good?

Maaannnnnn, the level of excitement for this was *real*. THE Shirtless Bear-Fighter comes back for a second volume. The first book was one of our favourite surprises while doing this show: it was hilarious and endlessly entertaining. So much so that it begs the question: was a sequel even necessary?Listen on in if you're curious to know if this sequel was more Godfather 2 or Boondock Saints 2... there is no in-between.

It's Saga time!For our 50th Arc Analysis episode, we wanted to do something big, and what's bigger than this space opera story?? It's Romeo and Juliet. It's Star Wars. It's Harry and the Henderson's. Okay, not so much that last one, but it does lean on a lot of family value themes and you know what else it is? Weird. It's really freakin' weird.But I guess that's what you get when you have two people falling in love from opposite sides of a galactic war, in a space where the royal family has TVs for heads.Enjoy volume 1!

Cocaine Bear [Bottle Cap Review]

As soon as this movie was revealed, we knew we had to see it. Drugs and animals?! What could go wrong?? The trailer looked fun, too! We walked into Cocaine Bear expecting maybe some sort of version of Sharknado or Zombeavers but that's not what we got. With a decidedly higher budget and better talent than those historical films, Cocaine Bear *should* be a slam dunk for those who like crazy, silly movies, as long as it doesn't switch up tones 3 or 4 times during its runtime...

The Last of Us: American Dreams [Arc Analysis #49]

You might know it as episode 9 "Left Behind" or the downloadable content "Left Behind", but what it does is chronicle and adventure of a young Ellie and her friend Riley.

Batman: Two-Face Returns [Arc Analysis #48]

You're never gonna guess what this book is about! Okay, you ready? It's Batman, right? But in this book, Two-Face RETURNS.There is also Catgirl and The Riddler has a sidekick but what's really important here is that this was the penultimate arc for the original Batman comic before the New 52 reboot.
Does that alone make it worth a read since the story is ridiculous (especially if you're a Face fan)? Listen in and find out, no free previews.
