Comic Patrol
If you dig comic books and conversation between two would be friends, this is the podcast for you. We are wickedly good-looking, incredibly knowledgeable and mildly literate detectives who spent countless years rising the ranks over comic book creations we shared across the pages. We kept the spotlight on what we loved/hated the most on all of comic book culture, and anything that made us graphical fans from the beginning. Buckle in and join co-hosts Coke and Dank in this weekly podcast to get your ears perked with our brand of geek culture... This is our patrol, This is Comic Patrol. Warning: Hosts may experience brief moments of cheer as tangents of random discourse of rage often to distract and amuse all parties. #numeatz #sawftcheeze

HOX POX DOX!! ITS A XbyX EPISODE!!!!
We return to cover the long celebrated X-Men Krakoa era
We're back on the Jonathan Hickman train, and we're waking back up to the world we almost forgot. As you can tell both Coke and Dank have spent countless hours following the Krakoan crew, through fire, magic and now in Beast's brain. So its easy to say we're back to finish what we started.
This ain't X of Swords, this ain't Reign of X, This is (more of) Trials of X!...
In this episode, we take a look at these 6 titles with Marvel Guide reading order
Phoenix Song: Echo #1-5
Marauders #24-27
SWORD #8-11
Wolverine #17-19
X-Force #21-26
Excalibur #22-26
If you want the complete picture, don't forget to check out our first part to this portion of the Krakoan era of X-Men, and if you want to read along too, that's dope... But we suggest maybe skipping Phoenix Song: Echo if you don't want to bail before we even get started... Thanks TRIAL of X (part II)

#107 - DSTLRY II
Thursday May 15, 2025
Thursday May 15, 2025
It not often we get a chance to read comics from the ground up, but we lucked out with DSTLRY and their new brand imprint.
Still the brainchild of David Steinberger and Chip Mosher, in May 2023. This is the house that has given artist and writers a fresh perspective, setting themselves up as the house that writers built:"focus on ethics, creator empowerment, and equity. Along with up-front participation by the founding creators, DSTLRY sets aside an additional 3% of company equity to be distributed among the creators who have projects released within the first three years. This equity will be distributed based of performance of titles"
So what sells gets paid more. Seems simple right? Well in DSTLRY(episode) we said yes.
We've since come back to the cutting edge studio to see the 2nd round of titles that have released to the marketplace. We also check some Issue 2's to see if those titles went Boom, Bah or Whoosh from where we last left off.
So buckle up as Coke n Dank give you the rundown of all the new books under this studio house, from paid, to laid, to shade, everything gets a look!
The series:
The City Beneath Her Feet #1
Defiant - #0 issue
Endeavour - #0 issue
Warm Fusion #1
You Won’t Feel a Thing #1
We return for Issue #2:
Somna
The Blood Brothers Mother
Gone
Life
The Missionary
Time Waits
White Boat

Deadly Class Vol 3: The Snake Pit [Arc Analysis #101]
Friday May 09, 2025
Friday May 09, 2025
The very first Arc Analysis episode we did was for Volume 1 of a wonderful book called Deadly Class. It took us 62 Arc Analysis comic reviews, before we'd circle back to the kids of the King's Dominion Atelier of the Deadly Arts, and it didn't disappoint.
We are back for the 3rd instalment of the undeniable feverish pairing of pen Rick Remender and ink explosions of Wes Craig
This is the continued-continued misadventures of a high schooler assassins, and it's very 80's appeals. (no cellphones can save them, cause they don't exist!)
How are Marcus and Maria escaping the consequences of Chico? How does Saya and Willy deal with the fallout of the plan gone haywire? Can Marcus handle the news he doesn't know? and will he befriend Petra to help him make sense of the lunchroom politics of high-school ? What is really going on in that school, and what new characters are joining the mix? Watch those corners, you never know who's listening in the King's Dominion!
Buckle in We got you covered, sawft cheezes and nu meatz - WE ON PATROL.

Saturday Apr 26, 2025
Saturday Apr 26, 2025
Well Numeatz & Sawftcheezes we made it! The Comic Patrol celebrates their 100th Arc Analysis, and what better way would we celebrate than reviewing the 4 issue iconic pairing of Mark Waid and Alex Ross in Kingdom Come.
Arguably one of DC's greatest "elsewhere" books. It discusses themes of morality, changing landscapes, old batman, and a terribly named villain - MAGOG! MYGAWD.
Buckle in fans, as we go in, and dont sugar coat what Kingdom Come means to us.
We also take some time to give a nod to favourite Arc Analysis (AA) from the past 100 booms

Kill Lock
Mister Miracle

*EDIT - DANKAGAIN HERE "thanks for reaching out sawftcheezes and noticing the error, we now updated the full intro into our part 3 of Daredevil: Born Again!"Carrying along the 'Born Again' tagline on your project is a tall order when that subtitle carries the weight from one of the best Daredevil stories ever written, so the next few episodes of our podcast - like we did with X-Men 97 last year - will be focused on the new Daredevil Disney+ series. This first part covers episodes 7. 8 and 9, so let's see how they stack up to the old Netflix series, and to the comic book legacy of Mr Matt Murdock (and Wilson Fisk).

Thursday Mar 20, 2025
Thursday Mar 20, 2025
Back at it again for - Saga time! The THIRDINING And we can no longer lie about this Image published, Brian K. Vaughan written and Fiona Staples drawn: epic-of-spacegasim-proportions! The world is so big but that doesn't stop our eyes from reading more and more. We finally have 3 separate storylines converge all on the same side of the universe, planet Quietus. Finally the bloodlust Prince Robot IV and bounty hunter Will descend down on our newborn parents. Only they aren't as close to the prize as they would think. The world is just so big and the bangs are even bigger, to this continuing space soap opera.
With our basis covered, we dive deeper into the psyches of our main characters Alana (wings) and Marko (horns) and stellar plot device of baby turned toddler Hazel, retelling the story of how her parents saved her life. Its the not so side characters: Gwendolyn, Oswald, Kiara, Lying Cat and Sophie Brand that help keep our protagonists on their toes.
Weird is no longer an understatement, as Saga answers the question "Whats the opposite of war?" What once was really freakin' weird, is now the journey we have no reason to stop enjoying, so we won't!
Enjoy volume 3, Numeatz!

#102 - HBO's Spawn: Season 1
Thursday Feb 20, 2025
Thursday Feb 20, 2025
It's no secret that comic patrol was built on comics. But there is a large part of our childhood that was raised on the silver screen, with the cartoons we watched and salivated over. Even more are those cartoon images that we saw looong before we understood the content and subject matter it portrayed.
God bless those channels: Showcase and Teletoon as active tools in that coming of age!
It was 1997 when HBO's Spawn hit our screens up north and we were transfixed with the conflicted, tortured, demon assisted hell-spawn as he ran through the streets of New York looking for vengeance.
this show has two amazing things going for it:
1. A motivated Todd McFarlane taking his pet project global with a TV deal2. A silky, smooth, butter toned, silver throated Keith David to anchor that project as your lead character.
We didn't know what we were seeing at the time, but it is clearly a property that has stuck with us through time.
Buckle in sawftcheezes and numeatz as we pick sides between the ongoing war between heaven and hell. So turn off the lights... THIS IS SPAWN!

Money Shot Vol 1 [Arc Analysis #96]
Friday Feb 14, 2025
Friday Feb 14, 2025
Could be all so simple, a basic premise and loveable characters thrown into weekly adventures?
From wild minds writers Tim Seeley & Sarah Beattie with art from Kurt Michael
In the soon future of 2032, a scientist enlists her four brillaint co-workers to help securing funding for more research. The XXX-plorers would take to the starts on a new venture. SEX, with each other, with aliens, discovering of new planets ande sex, ne positions for science and streams, lots and lost of streams... of sex. The higher the streams and scores the more revenue this "science" team could pocket. From the studios of Vault Comics, this is Money Shot.
It has been described as a "genuinely a wonderfully fun, brilliantly illustrated comic. I love it." and that opinion isn't far from the truth. But this wild ride isn't without its faults along with its charms.
Buckle in numeatz as Coke n Dank blast off with the gang: lead scientist Tesla Coyle (Physicist), Constance Planck (Physicist), Kneels Bore (Astrophysicist), Trinity Spheres (Epidemiologist) & Super Massive Blackhole (Biochemist) with Little Shot (their camera) in tow.

Friday Jan 31, 2025
Friday Jan 31, 2025
Well well Numeatz, we are back with a book that couldn't help but make Coke AND Dank relive their childhood favourite moments AGAIN! Except this may be the father to all of those amazing woodland critter stories.Bats, owls, pigeons, rats are all included in this story by Canadian writer Kenneth Oppel and artist Christopher Steininger are the collaborators of Silverwing
Great adventure storytelling gets us every time and Silverwing is no exception. This has been a story that has been told for at least 25years so it stands as a testament of what great storytelling can do.
it flows, it soars, it swoops and its honestly, a great flight of fantasy and adventure! It has no business being this good and this fun while still being so engaging. So buckle in and listen to us find more reasons to keep talking everything Silverwing.
