Continuing on from our last Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips story we posted a couple of weeks ago, we're back for more of this legendary duo.
Criminal: Lawless is the 2nd volume of the classic tale of gritty crime stories. In this one, the question is asked, how far would you go to avenge a family member you barely knew? How much of a motivator is the feeling of guilt? In this volume, we get a glimpse at how a man with nothing to lose inserts himself into a unit of organized crime to get revenge for his dead, estranged brother and the dangers of getting in too deep.

We don't want to bury the lead on this one but you know we love us some Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples' SAGA. And you can see for yourself that, with this being the 4th volume we've covered, it's a series that's in our wheelhouse.
With our main characters moreso in hiding than actually on the run, can they find a way to raise Hazel while also staying safe? Prince Robot hasn't given up on searching for them, and a large chunk of the galazy now knows about them too. 
An empire only really ever falls apart from the inside, afterall.

It's been a while since we covered an Ed Brubaker / Sean Phillips book, but we made it. This team was due for another round of coverage (even if we already did a 6-pack for them, that was ages ago), and we deliver here.
Last volume, our main character, Dylan, was introduced to the literal demon on his shoulder who was forcing him to kill people. It was an adjustment to say the least... But now with volume 2 of Kill or Be Killed, Dylan has learned - and seems oddly comfortable - to live with his passenger. If you want to see (hear) what sort of dangers that style of confidence can get a man (serial killer), hit play.

November 16, 1947. That is when All True Crime Cases #26 was released to the public. Who wrote it? We don't know. Who drew it? We also don't know, but we can tell you what it's about: Totally true crimes that all children should definitely read about...This comic flows through about 5 different stories, ranging from mobsters with guns to murderous circus acts and cowboys. All of which, of course, was marketed towards kids, because of course murder and crime is what junior should read about.All MIGHT be forgiven if it's actually any good, but... you'll have to listen in to find out for sure.

They left New York, regrouped, found themselves and are back in the city that never sleeps only to find... More trouble. Shredder has a stranglehold on criminal activity and the brothers are trying to use the element of surprise to wrestle it back.

TMNT/Batman Pull List continues on as we follow the new creative team taking over the TMNT 2025 series. As well as learn more about Gotham City that Bruce Wayne must navigate. There were laughs, there were explainations, there were comics reviewed, but more than anything there were two guys who found a way to keep talking about TURTLES

With this 5th volume, Rick Remender and Wes Craig's Deadly Class is now our longest running Arc Analysis saga, beating out Fraction and Aja's 4 volumes of Hawkeye. Considering that Deadly Class vol 1 was our first ever Arc Analysis episode, it seems fitting that we're here with it now.This volume is an introduction to the "new class" of characters, spinning out of the bloody, fiery end of the last volume. That means a lot of new faces, some very familiar ones, and definitely some surprises that readers may or may not love, but to know for sure, you'll have to listen here.

Remember that book we did last week? The one by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta? Ya, well we realized it is only two volumes long, so we finished it off in it's entirety, back to back. The Vision wants a life of his own, away from the hustle and bustle. He just wants a nuclear family (that he made himself), go to his 9 to 5 (the Avengers), and have completely normal (creepy) neighbours!But it isn't always that easy... Especially when you're an android burying your head in the sand of a world that misunderstands you.

Well we did it... another Halloween SPOOOOKTACULAAAR!!
The FD'Weapons managed to release a holiday episode on time, and we thought of no better way to celebrate Hallooween with... writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale (RIP) the re-re-release of Batman's the long Halloween imprint.

Now were back for the final stop in this world: The Last Halloween! While we may not agree with the story, the art of this book is captivating so make sure to follow up with any of the names listed below who came together to make something special.

Usagi Yojimbo, the samurai rabbit, like you've never seen him before: in space! Talk about a fish out of water story, huh? Here at the pod, we usually love these types of things, where you pluck the hero(es) from a place of comfort and drop them into a setting that is alien to them... in this case, literally.
This is very Star Wars light, as Usagi and friends are tasked with getting codes from an overarching imperial force to save the galaxy. Sound familiar? We bet it does. But is it good? Listen in to find out

There are a lot of vampire stories out there, but something that sets the second volume of Killadelphia: Burn Baby Burn apart from most bloodsucker tales is transparency, among other things. The police know about the vampires! They know about them and even have a branch of the department that specializes in vampire crimes.
When you take that element and add in the gritty writing, historical recreation elements, and cool cameos, you get Killadelphia. 
What happens when an organized collection of vampires decide to otherthrow the city, and they aren't worried about being discovered? Listen in if you want to find out.

We all have our own descent into madness, right? Dark, murderous thoughts? Life altering childhood trauma? Ok, maybe not ALL of the above, and maybe one of those things is a little spoiler-y for this book, but we're not going to tell you which one!
Crocodile Black is a dark, twisted story about the places dark thoughts (and mental illness) can take someone. It's moody, it's trippt, it's violent and pretty depressing, but is it a good read? Hit play to find out

Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys debuted back in 1930 and 1927, respectively. And here we are now, in 2025, reading a crossover book from 2017 for our Arc Analysis series.
Not going to lie to you here, we did not know what to expect when we opened up this book, but lets just say it was not at all this. It's a grounded, mature take on joint series of young adult adventure/mystery books. Where this story goes stretches murder, interrogations, drug deals, gangs, etc...This is a prime example of giving a chance to a title you aren't sure about: You never know how much you might like it! (editor's note: we hated it) (edit to the editor's note: that was a joke... maybe).
