Comic Patrol
If you dig comic books and conversation between two would be friends, this is the podcast for you. We are wickedly good-looking, incredibly knowledgeable and mildly literate detectives who spent countless years rising the ranks over comic book creations we shared across the pages. We kept the spotlight on what we loved/hated the most on all of comic book culture, and anything that made us graphical fans from the beginning. Buckle in and join co-hosts Coke and Dank in this weekly podcast to get your ears perked with our brand of geek culture... This is our patrol, This is Comic Patrol. Warning: Hosts may experience brief moments of cheer as tangents of random discourse of rage often to distract and amuse all parties. #numeatz #sawftcheeze

Yes, they are a spinoff from Jennifer Blood, but we didn't know that at the time, so we weren't sure what to expect. What we got was, well, schoolgirl ninja-esque women with rage issues. We think? One of the latest Avengers alt-universe limited runs, where heroes are hated, the government is bought and paid for, and Steve Rogers is struggling to keep his head down any longer.
How does it start? How well does it end? Is the journey from start to finish fun? Are the characters interesting? And does the world keep us hooked? Find out here, as we record our thoughts after every issue we read, and mashed them all together here, in Eventus form, to let you hear our live impressions.

Assholes [Arc Analysis #83]
Friday Aug 16, 2024
Friday Aug 16, 2024
it is not often a book can keep us turning the page, whilst making every panel revealed a spit-take of audible laughter and enjoyment. We cant hide our excitement for this book! Not only does this book seemingly reinvent ways to tell multiple stories, but gawd-damn is it funny.
A book so intent on showing the juvenile side of two protagonists, as they seeming choose to out-due each others decent into debauchery, foulness and ridiculousness fuelled alcoholism. This is @ssholes.
A book filled with vanity of the rich, profanity, classism, ageism, sexism, chauvinism, macho-madness, competitiveness, depravity, insecurity and boyish irreverence.
This book has a lot going for it on the surface, its clean paneling and illustrations punctuate the humour, its plotting of story progresses through a game of golf and 18 chapters, its written well and almost too familiar, and its hilarious - almost immediately.
What we find just barely under the surface, is that these two boys, are not men, are not heroes, and in this case these two @ssholes are actively trying to avoid any redemption, as we learn more about how these schmucks treat themselves, each other and anyone within earshot.
Buckle up sawft cheezes you haven't had a ride until you've ridden with @SSHOLES!

Something is Killing the Children Vol 3: A Game of Nowhere [Arc Analysis #82]
Thursday Jul 25, 2024
Thursday Jul 25, 2024
It's been less than the last block of Arc Analysis between volumes of Something is Killing the Children (63episodes, AA#77), but we had to see how this story played out! Shoutouts to BOOM Studios! writer:James Tynion IV and artist: Werther Dell’Edera. Again the mood and temperature of this book are great, it iss both creepy, eerie, and exciting to enter this universe where something has killed almost all of the children and were still playing catch up to see why.
Continuing immediately after the events of the first and second arc, this volume aims to wrap-up all the loose ends in the small town of Archer's Peak, as we follow Erica's last attempts to escape from the worst weekend ever? Can she do it? is everything resolved? Will the town accept the fate given to them? Whats the bus schedule? this and many more questions asked, but were not sure if answered! Check out our full review here!

Ice Cream Man Vol 1 [Arc Analysis #81]
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
Thursday Jul 11, 2024
What can be said about an anthological, horror influenced, possible what-if, purgatory placed, mind-melt of a book.. well a lot (and thats just Volume 1). But that doesn't begin to scratch the surface of this Image produced comic. W. Maxwell Prince written and art by Martín Morazzo. They take us on a ride that even after reading it, I still cant fully describe it.
So forgive me if I can't comprehend all that is Ice Cream Man Vol 1. Each story is self-contained with their own protagonists, and own hard and torturous lessons to learn. The only connection comes with what would be an eerie musical theme coming from a colourful and inviting ice-cream truck. The driver that would be the "Ice Cream Man-the weaver of stories" What we can't figure out, is if this is a friend. a foe. a god. a demon. a clown or the man who, with a snap of his fingers changes the course of the direction to all he encounters.
I say this with no exaggeration, Coke N Dank literally talked themselves into circles trying to figure out what to make of this book, and if they liked it. So the question is, will our confusion lead to you turning the page?
Buckle up numeatz the patrol is on!

This is the finale in this great and desperate adventure. Our champion protagonist Wix, tries to unite his friends, navigate the forrest and vanquish his enemies. As Pict dares to challenge the prophecy from the witches and make the great guardian rise!
So buckle in and listen to us try and decipher how animals are better at surviving a nuclear storm than man. Gush over how size matters, as an allan key, nail and tac are the best weapons used by mice in battle. We continue to find more reasons to keep talking everything Scurry.

Scurry Book 2: The Drowned Forest [Arc Analysis #79]
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Thursday Jun 20, 2024
Well Sawftcheezes, we couldn't resist returning back to a book that left us off in a cliffhanger. So why stop?
Well. We. Didn't ! Coke AND Dank return to the forest that holds all the critters and creatures that survived "the sky wolf who ate the sun". We sink our teeth deeper into this gem of a book! Yes, it's Scurry by Mac Smith. Who pens the story and draws all the blades of grass, splinters of wood and rushing of raging waters in this great and desperate adventures. Our protagonist Wix, attempts to find his ride or dies: Pict - lost to the forest herself and Umf - home as the colony decides serious decisions, that will impact all of their lives.
Honestly, this 2nd part of the adventure has no business getting better than previously read but here we are, so buckle in and listen to us try and pronounce Erebus correctly as we continue to find more reasons to keep talking everything Scurry.
Shoutouts to Dank's favourite Atlas and Coke's favourite Skoga as we sink deeper into the dangers of the frrest.

Thursday May 16, 2024
Thursday May 16, 2024
Well, here we are. At the finale of the 10 episode X-Men TAS revival, and obviously it was a homerun, right? Obviously it's the best animated show out right now, right? Obviously it lived up to our expectations and did our versions of the X-Men justice, right? RIGHT? Not exactly. In some ways, sure. But in other ways, this was a massive disappointment and boy oh boy, do we have complaints AS WELL AS praise... Kinda. Listen in to hear what we mean!To me, my New Meatz and Sawft Cheezes.

Tune out the rest of the noise and just stick with us as we navigate the middle 3 episodes that bring us our first look at Genosha, a space opera and a trip to New Mexico, as the sentinels come full circle. Fire & Ice [Bottle Cap Review]
Thursday Apr 18, 2024
Thursday Apr 18, 2024
In 1983, Ralph Baksi's Fire and Ice dropped and it tells the story of an evil queen and her son, set on conquering the entire world shortly after the ice age.Against them, stands one man (and help, so clearly not 'just' one man) from a destroyed village who takes it back to the evil frozen empire in this rotoscope styled film. A little over 40 years later, how does this bad boy stand up to the test of time - and was Teegra's body all natural?? Those are the big questions here.

Thursday Apr 11, 2024

We talk about the character arcs thus far, dive into each individual episode and what we like - and don't like - about the early goings of the series. #86 - X-Men TAS: One Big Saturday Morning
Thursday Mar 21, 2024
Thursday Mar 21, 2024
PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s.
What we didn't do is cover every single episode of all 5 seasons, but instead, we picked 17 episodes (a few from each season), to talk about and discuss. Are they our favourite episodes and arcs? Not necessarily, but they are all very memorable ones, and cover a lot of the popular points of interest the series had.
Please keep in mind that we have already covered the following arcs in older episodes:
The Phoenix Saga
The Dark Phoenix Saga
Beyond Good and Evil
In this episode, we will be covering:
Night of the Sentinels (S01E01-E02)
Deadly Reunions (S01E04)
Til Death Do Us Part (S02E01-02)
Red Dawn (S02E04)
Repo Man (S02E05)
Obsession (S03E09)
Savage Land, Strange Heart (S03E12-13)
Sanctuary (S04E03-04)
One Man’s Worth (S04E09-10)
Weapon X, Lies & Video Tapes (S04E16)
The Fifth Horseman (S05E05)
Graduation Day (S05E10)
